Students assessed stream quality in situ by measuring parameters such as temperature, flow, dissolved oxygen, pH and conductivity. They also collected samples from the stream both upstream and downstream of the dam. The samples were analyzed in the laboratory for total carbonate, nitrite/nitrate and phosphate. The measurements were later compared with predictions using the theory of chemical equilibrium.

Environmental Engineers of the Future
Supporting students obtaining a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering

http://www.engineeringmastersfunding.org/EMastersFunding/

Take advantage of a great opportunity for students in environmental engineering. Designed to encourage students to obtain a Masters Degree, and to increase the number of talented professionals with advanced degrees practicing in the United States, this program offers funding for students attending one of many outstanding Environmental Engineering programs across the nation, in return for a 2-year employment commitment.

Sponsored by premiere public agencies and private engineering firms, the program prepares students to practice in the municipal water, wastewater, and solid waste management fields. Since the start of the program in 2005, over $900,000 has been provided to students obtaining a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering.
